As of July 1, 1998 Medicare is covering bone densitometry as a screening test for
estrogen-deficient (post-menopausal) women. A referral from your physician is required.
Medicare will pay for the test once every two years. More frequent testing
may be
covered in unusual circumstances if medical necessity can be documented.
We will accept Medicare assignment for the DXA scan.
